HEY ITS AMANDA!

HI I'm Amanda and I'm a mama to my two beautiful children, and I live in Sunny Tsawwassen. For the last 10 years, I've been working in early childhood education and as a nanny in the community. I've spent the last 3.5 years at home living life curiously through the eyes of my children. If you're looking for me, I'm probably out on a walk with my mom who's my best friend, exploring a new park with my kids, getting coffee and a sweet treat, or soaking in quality time with my friends. My journey into birth work began with two very different birth experiences that changed everything I thought I knew. My first birth was a tough, three-day adventure to meet my son. It started as a home birth but ended up in the hospital with a NICU stay. That experience, especially during the chaos of COVID, made me rethink everything I knew about birth. Then came my second birth, which was everything I dreamed of and more. I had an unintentional unassisted home birth with my partner and doula by my side. It was such an empowering experience to bring my baby into the world in my own home, with my own hands. It showed me just how beautiful and powerful the birth process can be. Childbirth truly became my greatest teacher, showing me the profound strength and wisdom within us. This sparked a fire in me. Two months after my daughter was born, I started my doula training. I completed programs in both birth and postpartum support because I want to be able to help families through every part of their journey. Motherhood is one of the most transformative journeys you'll ever embark on, it sure has been for me. Childbirth is a deeply impactful experience that sets the stage for your journey ahead and can shape how you navigate those initial years of parenting . It's important to build a supportive team and environment that aligns with your birth vision and trusts in your ability to birth your way. I'm here to support you throughout this process. I hold a strong belief in mother-led, family-centered childbirth and that the people you have with you during birth make a huge difference in how the experience unfolds. I'm so grateful to walk this path with families, helping them discover the incredible power and strength within themselves.
